Clean Marinade for Chicken

I love flavorful food and don't think that chicken should be boring because you are trying to avoid sodium and chemical filled seasoning pouches.

You can really make this your own recipe using different seasoning and spices. I love Mrs. Dash because they are only spices no salt and sugar added! Having honey in your marinades are a must it really balances out that acidic flavor from the vinegar and or citrus while giving it that beautiful charry look!

Here you can see I am *KINDA* obsessed with Mrs. Dash seasonings. the possibilities are endless. I love mixing garlic and Herb with southwestern Chipolte and fiesta lime seasoning with lime juice for a Mexican kick. I often use the Italian to mix in…

Hands on time: 5 Minutes Inactive time: 15-30 Min up to 1 hour

CONTAINERS: I personally do not count this as a container because it is for a whole package of chicken. The amount you are ingesting is so minimal. This works for me but do what feels right in your journey.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 tablespoon of honey

  • 1-1.5 tablespoon of Mrs dash seasoning ( I like to mix 1/2 garlic and herb with 1/2 of another to customize my marinade)

  • Healthy pinch of salt about  1/2 tsp, some fresh ground peper

  • 2-3 tablespoons of any vinegar, lemon lime or orange

  • 2-3 Tablespoon of good quality olive oil

DIRECTIONS

  1.  Place honey in a large bowl, any combination or Mrs. Dash, salt, pepper, and vinegar or citrus juice. Wisk well
  2. Slowly pour in olive oil while whisking briskly until well combined and all live oil is incorporated.
  3. Place chicken or meat of choice into the bowl, stir to coat and let sit for a minimum of 15 minutes, cook or grill as desired.

* Remember when taking meat off of the grill or even from the oven let it rest for about 5-10 minutes to allow the juices to redistribute though the meat. This way you whole piece of chicken will be juicy, not just the first bite. Also know that the chicken will continue to cook as it cools down a bit so take that into consideration to not over cook the chicken, ENJOY! Feel free to double this recipe if you have a lot of meat to marinate.

Cheap & Easy Oatmeal Packets

I love a nice bowl of oatmeal! What I don't like is the fake flavor, sugar laden, and artificial chemicals & ingredients in store bought oatmeal packets. My solution? Pre-made clean eating oatmeal packets that only cost .10 instead of .50! They taste way better and help you reach your goals faster.

It is as simple as putting a few ingredients into a snack size zip-lock baggie or small container. Then they are ready to go and you are saving time and money not to mention saving yourself from a bunch of artificial ingredients.

My all time favorite is blueberry pecan! just throw in a handful of fresh blueberries and some toasted walnuts and you are good to go! I love to chop the pecans and toss them into a dry pan and toast on medium heat for a few minutes until you can smell them. right at the end I will sometimes spray them with a bit of coconut oil and sprinkle them with a bit of salt.

Time: 10 minutes  Containers: 1 Yellow 1/2 Purple .25 blue

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Quick oats per baggie (gluten free if needed)
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of salt (Do NOT skip this, you will regret it)
  • 1-2 tablespoon of toasted pecans, walnuts, or almond slivers per baggie ( Pecans are my fav!)
  • 1-2 teaspoons of 100% pure maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup of blueberries
  • Snack size baggies (I usually make 10 at a time)

Directions

  1. Place open baggies on counter
  2. Add oats, cinnamon, salt and nuts to baggie. Close baggie and store in cool dry place.
  3. When ready to eat dump baggie contents into bowl or container, add blueberries and syrup
  4. Add hot water to your liking, stir and let sit for a few minutes. ENJOY

These baggies are so versatile! you can add any dried fruit, coconut, nuts, fresh fruit, thawed frozen fruit, chocolate chips for the kids or as a nice treat for us, Peanut butter. really the sky is the limit. I have loved the pecan blueberry flavor so I have not ventured too far outside that because it hits the spot each time! Also I sometimes add a tablespoon or 2 of my easy homemade granola for an extra crunch!

Clean, Fast, Easy Taco Seasoning

I love tacos and I am sure you do too! they are amazing and easy, the whole family loves them. I know it is so easy to grab a seasoning packet but they have so much added preservatives, sugar and sodium that are just not necessary. Aside form that it is so much cheaper to make your own! I like to make a large batch and have it when the mood strikes, because who wants to mix it up each time.

I store this is an air tight container, and use about 2 - 1 tablespoons for 1 package or meat. My favorite way to make tacos is to brown meat, add the seasoning and 1 14 oz can of tomato sauce and simmer until thickened. Always check meat and adjust seasoning per taste by adding an extra pinch of salt or maybe some siracha if you like it really spicy. It is adjustable to suit many tastes. I tend to use about 1-1.5 tablespoons because our children are still small and do not like "spicy food" aka flavor lol!
